Matched into Pathology

Leena is very dedicated and genuinely wants to see her students succeed. She is very proactive and interactive in her teaching. Leena created an entire study schedule that was best suited to me for my step 1 prep. She offered daily tutoring on difficult concepts, as well as question drilling on high yield information. Apart from her extensive knowledge she also offered supplementary information when needed. I highly recommend her as a tutor!

TJ, IMG

I decided to tutor with Leena when I realized that self study wasn't helping me do well on NBMEs. She was quick to understand my weak areas and made a study plan for me. She made every attempt to consolidate my basics and then recognize what method of revision would work best for me. All along she was a great source of motivation and she always came with so much energy making sure I wouldn't lose my enthusiasm with difficult subjects.

Thanks Leena for all of your help. You have played a big role in strengthening my foundations not only for Step 1 but also for the future. I wish you the very best in your future endeavors!

About Me.

Originally from Toronto, Canada, I completed my undergraduate degree in Nursing Science in Toronto. After briefly working as a nurse, I realized I wanted more responsibility and autonomy in patient care, driven by my deep fascination with pathology. This led me to pursue medical school in the Caribbean.
During my medical education, I encountered some challenges that required me to switch to another Caribbean medical school. It was during this transition that I began teaching and tutoring in basic sciences. By my fourth year of medical school, I expanded my tutoring to include Step 2 CK preparation. Upon graduation, I obtained my ECFMG certification and matched into an Internal Medicine program in the Midwest.

Throughout my intern year, I discovered a profound passion for psychiatry. To build my skills in this field, I took some time off to work as a medical scribe and engage in psychiatric research. My dedication paid off when I successfully matched into an off-cycle position at Indiana University. I am now thriving in my psychiatry residency and finally found what I'm passionate about. I am immensely grateful for my journey. Despite its length and complexity, I have learned to embrace the process, practicing patience and discipline.

My experiences as an international medical graduate navigating the intricacies of the medical journey have equipped me with unique insights and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by medical students and residents. My goal is to share these insights and support others who are on similar paths.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, engaging in outdoor activities, watching documentaries, and playing games and puzzles.
